Cloud9’s last appearance in Counter-Strike was at the Perfect World Shanghai Major in late 2024, where they were eliminated in the Opening Stage by Team Liquid, PaiN, and Complexity, failing to qualify for the playoffs. Despite their rich history, Cloud9’s most recent significant achievement in Counter-Strike was a victory at Relog Media’s Brazy Party in 2023.
Cloud9 Joins Rainbow Six Siege Esports
In a new direction, Cloud9 announced on February 15, 2025, that they would be entering Rainbow Six Siege esports, joining Ubisoft’s partner programme as one of 20 teams. The partnership allows teams to earn revenue through the sale of pro-team bundles in the in-game store.
Cloud9 was one of two teams revealed during the Six Invitational 2025 to join the program, with Brazilian organization LOUD rounding out the roster of 20 for the 2025 season. While Cloud9 has yet to reveal its roster for the upcoming season, this marks the organization’s return to Rainbow Six Siege esports. The last time Cloud9 competed in the game was at the 2021 Six Invitational, where they finished in the top sixteen.
Cloud9’s return to Rainbow Six Siege adds another prominent North American presence to the competitive scene, alongside teams like FaZe Clan, M80, and Spacestation Gaming, with FaZe Clan representing Brazil.
