EA Origin will be shutting down on April 17, 2025, due to Microsoft discontinuing support for 32-bit software.

Players currently using Origin will need to download and install the EA app from Electronic Arts’ website, which requires a 64-bit version of Windows. When logging into the EA app with their Origin account, games from Origin will automatically transfer, and if cloud saves are enabled, save data will carry over as well. For titles that don’t support cloud saves, users will need to manually transfer their data.

Players upgrading to a new operating system won’t need to redownload their games, but those upgrading their PC will need to transfer their data manually.

EA Origin was launched in June 2011, and the EA app followed in October 2022. At the time of the EA app's debut, the company announced plans to gradually phase out Origin.
