Electronic Arts (EA) is laying off between 300 and 400 employees in a significant restructuring effort, according to a report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. This includes the previously confirmed loss of around 100 positions at Respawn Entertainment, following the cancellation of two of its upcoming projects.
“As part of our continued focus on our long-term strategic priorities, we’ve made select changes within our organization that more effectively align teams and allocate resources in service of driving future growth,” EA’s Justin Higgs told Schreier in a statement.
In addition to the layoffs, Schreier reports that one of the cancelled projects at Respawn was an extraction shooter set in the Titanfall universe.
EA is set to report its Q4 and FY 2025 earnings on May 6, where the layoffs are expected to be addressed, along with the company’s financial forecast for 2026.
So far in 2025, the gaming industry has seen over 2,000 job losses across nearly 60 companies. Multiple attempts to reach EA for further clarification on the layoffs and the studios impacted have gone unanswered as of publishing.
