FIFAe World Cup of Football Manager Announced

Sports Interactive and FIFAe have announced an partnership launching the inaugural FIFAe World Champion of Football Manager.
In its debut year, this joint initiative will invite selected member associations to participate in the final event. According to the release, invitations will be based on eligibility criteria and national player representation, "ensuring equitable and diverse competition worldwide".
The event will feature a prize pool totaling $100k during the final event scheduled from August 29 to September 1.

Chief of Global Football Development at FIFA, Arsène Wenger stated “I look forward to being part of this exciting new journey. This competition requires participants to demonstrate a profound understanding of football strategy and tactics. Success in this format demands not only mastery of game mechanics but also in-depth football knowledge, making it a fascinating blend.”
Football Manager, originally known as Championship Manager from its inception in 1992, is a series of football management simulation video games developed by British studio Sports Interactive and published by Sega. Following a split with original publishers Eidos Interactive due to issues surrounding the release of CM4 in 2003, Sports Interactive retained the game engine and data but lost the naming rights. Subsequently, they rebranded the game as Football Manager under their new publisher Sega. The latest installment in the series, Football Manager 2024, was launched on November 6, 2023.
