The creator of Hatoful Boyfriend, Hato Moa, has raised allegations against Epic Games, claiming that the company has not fulfilled royalty payments for the game over the past two years. This comes in the aftermath of layoffs at Epic Games that affected Mediatonic, the studio responsible for the Hatoful Boyfriend HD remake. Following the layoffs, dev Hato Moa emphasized that Epic Games has not honored its royalty obligations since its acquisition of Mediatonic in 2021.
