Seattle-based game developer Ironwood Studios has closed a $4 million seed funding round, with venture firm Lifelike Capital leading the investment. The fresh capital will fuel development of the studio’s next project as it builds on the commercial momentum of its debut title, Pacific Drive.
Founded in 2019, Ironwood Studios made its industry debut in February 2024 with Pacific Drive, a survival driving game that quickly captured attention for its atmospheric world design and distinctive gameplay loop. The title steadily gained traction throughout the year, reaching 600,000 copies sold by mid-July and surpassing one million units within its first 12 months on the market.
The new funding round signals strong investor confidence in the studio’s creative direction and long-term potential.

"As a team we are very thankful for the opportunity to keep making games and at the same time so incredibly excited for what the future of Ironwood holds," said Dracott.
"This funding round points us towards the best version of that future and we're thrilled to work alongside Lifelike Capital to make it a reality."
While details about the upcoming project have not yet been revealed, the funding will allow the studio to expand production capabilities, invest in talent, and further refine its creative vision.
