Who Louis Zhang Is
Zhang has been building financial credentials for close to two decades, starting out as a financial analyst in 2008.
The most prominent position on his CV before OverActive is his time at Dentsu, the global advertising and public relations conglomerate headquartered in Tokyo. Zhang spent nearly seven years there as VP Corporate Controller, a role that involves overseeing the financial reporting. Dentsu is one of the largest advertising companies in the world.
Zhang joined OverActive as EVP of Finance toward the end of 2025, which means he has had time to get across the company's financials before stepping into the CFO seat on an interim basis following Shah's departure.
OverActive Media's Business and Where It Stands Financially
OverActive Media is primarily known in esports for two competitive operations. Movistar KOI competes in League of Legends, operating in the LEC, Riot's top tier European league, under a partnership with Spanish telecommunications company Movistar. Toronto KOI competes in the Call of Duty League.
Several esports companies that listed publicly during the boom period have faced serious difficulties maintaining investor confidence as the financial realities of running competitive teams, events, and media businesses have played out. But OverActive has navigated that environment while continuing to operate.
