According to a report from Dexerto, players of the Call of Duty League franchise Boston Breach were notified that they would lose access to the OXG’s Helix facility and their apartments by August 8th. This move comes despite the team’s participation in the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia just a few days later.

The board and shareholders of Oxygen Esports (OXG) were involved in handling the formalities surrounding severance pay related to upcoming layoffs, which are expected to be officially announced by August 9th. Founded in 2020, Oxygen merged with Robert Kraft’s company shortly after its inception, enabling them to fund teams across various esports titles including Valorant, Rocket League, Rainbow Six, Apex Legends, and to create the Call of Duty League franchise Boston Breach.

This development follows the suspension of the Shift Summer League playoffs in Rocket League, which were abruptly halted 30 minutes before the scheduled start on August 6. Staff members for the event were reportedly informed that their promised payment would no longer be honored and were urged to continue working without compensation.
