Thibaut Courtois, the Real Madrid goalkeeper, has launched a new esports organisation called TC Esports. Initially, the organisation will focus on sim racing, though details about team rosters and specific competitions are yet to be revealed. The announcement comes on the heels of Courtois' 2023 launch of TC Racing, a real-life racing team that competes in the F4 Spanish Championship. TC Racing is also involved in the Prodigy Racing League, a unique ‘e2Real’ competition that blends simulation racing with real-world motorsports.
Courtois has long been interested in sim racing, having participated in several high-profile virtual racing events, including Virtual F1, a competition organised by Formula 1 during the COVID-19 pandemic, which featured F1 drivers and celebrity participants. In his new esports venture, he will be joined by Javier Guerra, who will serve as the Director of Marketing & Gaming for TC Racing. Guerra previously led the esports division at Williams Racing from 2018 until earlier this year.

Discussing the creation of TC Esports, Courtois said: “I have two simulators at home that I use regularly when football allows me to. After participating in several sim racing competitions and events, esports began to attract even more attention. That is why I have always wanted to have my own esports team, since sim racing can also open doors in the world of motorsports and it is something that we also want to bet on at TC Racing.”
