The Pokémon Company has secured a $15 million victory in a lawsuit against several Chinese companies over the game Pocket Monster Reissue. The Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court ruled that the turn-based RPG, also known as Koudaiyaoguai Fuke, infringed on The Pokémon Company's copyright by using characters such as Ash Ketchum and Pikachu.

One of the six companies involved has been ordered to pay the damages, while some others are appealing the decision. According to The South China Morning Post, Pocket Monster Reissue is estimated to have generated approximately $42 million annually. The Pokémon Company initially sought $72 million in damages and requested a public apology.
The game featured unaltered Pikachu artwork from the Pokémon Yellow box as its app icon, while other branding included images of Ash Ketchum, Pikachu, Tepig, and Oshawott, all of which appeared to be unchanged.
