{{Company |seo_title=Bungie |seo_keywords=Bungie |logoAll=76.jpg |title=Bungie |db_type=Other |description=Bungie, Inc. is a video game developer headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, and operates as a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Founded in May 1991 by Alex Seropian, Bungie initially focused on developing games for the Macintosh platform. Jason Jones joined the company shortly after the release of his game Minotaur: The Labyrinths of Crete, marking the beginning of a long-running partnership. Based originally in Chicago, Bungie gained recognition with its early franchises, Marathon and Myth. In the late 1990s, Bungie launched a satellite studio, Bungie West, which developed Oni, released in 2001. At the time, Take-Two Interactive owned a 19.9% stake in Bungie and held the rights to Oni. Microsoft acquired Bungie in 2000, transforming the in-development title Halo: Combat Evolved into a launch game for the original Xbox. Halo quickly became the console's flagship title, leading to the creation of the blockbuster Halo franchise. In 2007, Bungie split from Microsoft and re-established itself as an independent company under the name Bungie LLC. Microsoft retained the rights to the Halo IP. In 2010, Bungie entered a ten-year publishing agreement with Activision. The first major result of this partnership was the release of Destiny in 2014, followed by Destiny 2 in 2017. Bungie ended its relationship with Activision in January 2019 and assumed full control of the Destiny franchise, including its publishing duties. In July 2022, Bungie was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Despite the acquisition, Bungie continues to operate as a multi-platform developer and publisher. |showGallery=No |logos={{Logos |logoAll=76.jpg }} }}
