IGET will offer Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services for issues such as anti-doping violations, player misconduct, intellectual property conflicts, and contractual disputes. The tribunal aims to provide a specialized and accessible solution to the fast-paced, global nature of esports. Key features of IGET include: Expertise: A panel of arbitrators and mediators with deep knowledge of esports and intellectual property. Global Reach: A platform for resolving disputes internationally, regardless of jurisdiction. Comprehensive Coverage: Handling a wide range of disputes from integrity issues to commercial matters. Efficiency: ADR processes designed for quick resolutions to minimize disruption in the esports ecosystem. With this launch, ESIC will transition its Independent Appeals Panel to IGET, making it the exclusive jurisdiction for all ESIC appeals. Stephen Hanna, CEO of ESIC, stated: “The launch of IGET is a significant and important milestone for the global video games and esports industries. By combining ESIC’s expertise in maintaining integrity with WIPO’s authority in intellectual property dispute resolution, this initiative will ensure that disputes are handled professionally and swiftly, maintaining the integrity that underpins these industries’ growth and credibility. IGET is a critical step towards fostering trust, professionalism, and fairness across our industries.” }}
