Talent agencies SEG Esports and Prodigy Agency have been named as the first certified members of the program. According to ESIC, the framework was created in collaboration with more than 15 global agencies to address ongoing challenges in player representation and to promote ethical practices across the industry. Under the scheme, agents undergo an evaluation process that includes financial due diligence and criminal background checks. Those who earn certification must also commit to a code of conduct designed to safeguard clients and ensure accountability in case of misconduct. ESIC CEO Stephen Hanna described the initiative as a major advancement for the esports ecosystem. βThe Certified Talent Agents Program represents a significant step forward for the esports industry,β Hanna said. βBy providing a clear, credible pathway for talent agents, we are addressing an area that has been largely unregulated and often problematic for players.β The program builds on a series of integrity-focused initiatives launched by ESIC this year. In July 2025, the Commission partnered with ggCircuit to introduce a global certification standard for esports venue infrastructure, setting benchmarks for facilities worldwide. Earlier in January, ESIC collaborated with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) to establish the International Games and Esports Tribunal, a body providing dispute resolution services for industry stakeholders.
