|content=Sony has officially revealed the name and details of its first wireless fight stick controller for PlayStation: the FlexStrike. Previously introduced as Project Defiant during the June 2025 State of Play presentation, this cutting-edge controller is set for a 2026 release and will debut publicly at the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) in Las Vegas, taking place August 1–3.

The FlexStrike will be on display at both the Fight Stick Museum and the Arc System Works booth, appearing alongside the newly announced fighter Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Crafted with competitive players in mind, the FlexStrike boasts a range of technical features that blend familiar PlayStation 5 hardware with specialized design for fighting games. One of the standout features of the FlexStrike is its integration of the DualSense controller’s signature buttons and touchpad, transplanted into a traditional fight stick layout. The controller also supports customizable configurations, including swap-out directional inputs with a built-in lever and the ability to lock in layouts to prevent accidental button presses during intense matches.

"FlexStrike is the first fight stick controller designed by Sony Interactive Entertainment,” said Edwin Foo, Vice President of Product Development at Sony Interactive Entertainment. His statement signals the company's direct investment in developing pro-level fighting peripherals under its own brand.

Sony is emphasizing wireless flexibility with the inclusion of the PS Link USB adapter, designed for seamless connectivity. Compatible with USB-C ports, this adapter allows users to connect up to two FlexStrike controllers to a PS5 or PS5 Pro, while still using a DualSense controller simultaneously. The adapter also supports low-latency audio connections with Elite wireless headsets and Pulse Explore earbuds for smooth in-game communication.

Sony is also addressing portability concerns by including a custom sling carry case with the FlexStrike. The case features a “level gap” design to help protect the digital stick and prevent damage during travel.
