|content=Two of Halo’s most decorated players, Adam ‘Bound’ Gray and Jonathan ‘Renegade’ Willette, have officially announced their free agency as they prepare to transition into Call of Duty ahead of the upcoming Black Ops 7 season.

The announcement comes on the heels of a major shift in the competitive Halo landscape. With the Halo Championship Series (HCS) confirming that 2025 will mark the final season of Halo Infinite as its featured title, and with no official return of Halo’s esports circuit planned for 2026, several top-tier players are exploring new opportunities.

Bound and Renegade made their intentions public on August 27th, shortly after wrapping up a strong campaign with OpTic Gaming, finishing second at the Salt Lake City Major. Despite their podium finish, the two stars are looking ahead, setting their sights on new ground in Call of Duty esports.

“By combining Imperial’s culture and winning values with Europe’s rising stars, our mission is to create an environment where talent flourishes, discipline is forged, and champions are built,” the organisation posted on X (Twitter).

Both players bring a championship pedigree to whatever scene they enter. Bound notably played a key role in Spacestation Gaming’s near-perfect 2024 season, capturing every Major title along with the 2024 Halo World Championship. Renegade, meanwhile, boasts two Halo world titles under his belt — winning in 2018 with Splyce and again in 2023 with FaZe Clan.

Their recent stint with [[Companies/OpTic Gaming|OpTic Gaming]] has also been impressive. In 2025, the team secured Major victories in Arlington and Dallas, reinforcing its reputation as one of the top Halo rosters globally. Their consistency has earned them a spot at HCS Charlotte, set for early October, which will serve as Halo Infinite’s final international tournament under the HCS banner.

With 343 Industries signaling a shift "towards the next era of Halo," the competitive future for many of the game’s top talents remains uncertain. For Bound and Renegade, however, the next chapter appears to lie in Call of Duty — a franchise that continues to attract top FPS talent seeking new challenges.
