|content=McLaren Shadow has strengthened its F1 Sim Racing line-up with the addition of 19-year-old Jake Benham, marking a significant move in the ongoing shuffle of esports talent during the offseason.

Benham arrives at McLaren after a successful three-year stint with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports. During the 2025 season, he made six appearances, securing two podium finishes and placing in the top five three times — performances that were instrumental in Mercedes clinching third in the Teams Championship standings.

“I’m delighted to have joined the McLaren Shadow F1 Sim Racing Team,” Benham shared. “It’s an honour to be getting the opportunity to work with such a prestigious team, and I’m looking forward to getting started at MTC. In addition to his F1 Sim Racing experience, Benham is a two-time World Online Racing (WOR) champion, bringing a blend of consistency and competitive pedigree to his new team.

At McLaren Shadow, Benham will team up with established sim racers Alfie Butcher, a former race winner, and Wilson Hughes, a two-time Premier Sim Gaming League (PSGL) champion. The trio will represent McLaren in the upcoming F1 Sim Racing season.
