{{News |seo_title=Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros |seo_keywords=Netflix |image=Netflix_Logo.jpg |tags=Netflix |date=2025-12-05T14:06:53.000Z |sources={{NewsSource |source=CNN |url=https://www.cnn.com/2025/12/05/media/netflix-deal-warner-bros |article=News/Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros }} |author=Andura |category=Mergers and Acquisitions |content=After several weeks of reviewing bids from interested buyers, Netflix has been chosen to purchase Warner Bros. in 2026. The deal is expected to be finalized once Warner Bros. Discovery completes its plan to split into two companies. A joint announcement on Friday confirmed that Netflix will acquire the Streaming and Studios branch of the split. Based on earlier information, this would include Warner Bros. Games. If that remains the case, studios such as NetherRealm, Rocksteady, TT Games, and Avalanche may soon become part of Netflix Games. “Today’s announcement combines two of the greatest storytelling companies in the world to bring to even more people the entertainment they love to watch the most,” said Warner Bros. Discovery president and CEO David Zaslav. Netflix co CEO Greg Peters said, “This acquisition will improve our offering and accelerate our business for decades to come. With our global reach and proven business model, we can introduce a broader audience to the worlds they create, giving our members more options, attracting more fans to our best in class streaming service, strengthening the entire entertainment industry and creating more value for shareholders.” It is important to note that even though the deal refers to a full acquisition of Warner Bros., which will be the official name of the streaming and studios side, the press release did not directly mention the games division.
