Staying true to the extensive leaks, the new console appears to be a larger, more powerful iteration of its predecessor.

While Nintendo did not announce a specific release date or price during Thursday’s reveal, the company confirmed a 2025 release window. The only game shown running on the Switch 2 was a new Mario Kart title.

As anticipated, the Switch 2 retains the hybrid design of the original, allowing for both portable play and TV mode through a dock, complete with detachable Joy-Con controllers.
