|content=The Pokémon Company has outlined the official tournament structure for the 2025 Pokémon UNITE World Championship, set to take place from August 15th to 17th at Anaheim Arena in California.

The top teams from around the world will gather to compete for a share of the $500,000 (~£372,000) prize pool, with the competition taking place alongside other major titles at the broader Pokémon World Championship. This includes tournaments for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon VGC, and Pokémon GO.

Originally planned to feature 32 teams qualifying through regional leagues, the UNITE tournament will now host 27 squads due to the unexpected withdrawal of five teams: Team TC, Champion Road, and Nova Esports from China, INFAMOUS from Peru, and Korea’s Last Dance.

Despite the reduced team count, the tournament structure will remain unchanged. The opening stage will divide participating teams into eight groups, each playing in a single round-robin format with best-of-three matches. Due to the changes, five of these groups will now consist of only three teams.

At the end of Day 1, the top two teams from each group will move forward into the playoffs. The knockout stage will follow a single-elimination format, starting with best-of-three matches. From the semi-finals onward, series will shift to best-of-five to determine which teams advance to the final showdown.
