|content=Qloud Games has closed a $5 million seed funding round to accelerate the development of its upcoming cozy MMO title, Loftia. The round was led by Bitkraft Ventures and GFR Fund, with participation from notable investors including Andreessen Horowitz (A16Z), 1Up Fund, and Gaingels.

The Sydney-based studio, founded by Michael Su and Martina Qin, aims to redefine the MMO landscape with Loftia, a game that blends social collaboration with uplifting environmental themes. The co-founders themselves invested $500,000 into the venture, reinvesting capital earned through an ESOP at Canva. Their commitment also drove a record-setting Kickstarter campaign in 2024, which raised $1.3 million from over 16,700 backers.

“With Loftia, we're creating the kind of world we wish existed – one where people work together to create a brighter future,” said CEO Michael Su. “Thanks to the support of Bitkraft, GFR Funding, A16Z, and our Kickstarter backers, we're excited to bring Loftia to life.”

The game has already attracted a loyal and growing community, amassing more than 600,000 followers prior to launch. An Alpha version has been successfully completed, and with the new funding secured, Qloud Games is now fully financed through to launch.
