|content=Sentinels will officially enter the League Championship Series (LCS) in 2026, marking the North American organisation’s long-awaited return to League of Legends after nearly a decade.

The move, confirmed by both LoL Esports and Sentinels, makes the organisation the eighth permanent partner in the league as it transitions to an independent model next year.


Before becoming Sentinels, the organisation competed in the LCS as Phoenix1 from 2016 to 2017, representing North America at the first Rift Rivals event in Berlin and finishing with a 4–2 record—including two wins against G2 Esports. The roster also featured Mike “MikeYeung” Yeung, who earned Rookie of the Split in Summer 2017.

CEO Rob Moore described the move as a milestone for the organisation:

“This is the next stage in Sentinels’ evolution… Now, entering the most popular and enduring game in the world, League of Legends, is the natural next step.”
