According to a report from CTV, 61 employees at the studio have joined the Game & Media Workers Guild of Canada, Local 30111. The union was formally certified by the Nova Scotia Labour Board on December 18, 2025. The group will now operate under the name Ubisoft Workers of Canada, Halifax. Ubisoft Halifax lead programmer Jon Huffman said the certification was a major relief for employees. He confirmed that nearly three-quarters of eligible staff voted in favor of forming a union. "73.8 per cent were in favour of unionising," Huffman said. "It's a really strong turnout. Everyone who was eligible to vote, voted. It's a clear response from the membership." Huffman added that the vote included workers from across the studio, including programming, production, design, art, and research and development (R&D) teams. ==== First Union at Ubisoft in North America ==== This is the first bargaining unit formed within Ubisoft’s North American operations, making it a significant milestone for labor organization in the video game industry. Employees at [[Companies/Ubisoft|Ubisoft]] Halifax first announced their intention to unionize in June 2025. A vote was held that same month, but it could not be finalized due to challenges reportedly raised by Ubisoft. Those challenges were later dropped, allowing the votes to be counted in December. Despite the long process, Huffman said staff remained committed. "Even though it's taken this long to certify, we’re still dedicated to doing this with Ubisoft," he said. "We love where we work, we love who we work with. We're in this for the long haul." '''More:'''[[News/Envy to Disband Rainbow Six Siege Roster|Envy to Disband Rainbow Six Siege Roster]] }}
