As part of this partnership, S8UL players Julien ‘Fouma’ Perbal and Jonas ‘Jonny’ Wirth will play for FC Lorient in the upcoming season. FC Lorient is already a top contender in EAFC esports, having won every eLigue1 title since 2021. Fouma, who was a key part of these victories, will return to FC Lorient after playing a big role in the club's success. S8UL Esports, based in Mumbai, is new to the EAFC esports scene but has been making big moves. The team joined EAFC esports ahead of the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC), where they were part of the Esports World Cup Partner Programme. After the tournament, S8UL signed Fouma to continue building its esports presence. This partnership is unique because it’s the first time [[Companies/S8UL Esports|S8UL Esports]] has teamed up with a professional football club for esports, according to E.J. Wilson, the Head of Partnerships for S8UL. The eLigue1 is organised by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), they run top football leagues in France. The tournament is expected to start in January 2026 and finish in April. In previous years, the winner has earned a spot in the FC Pro 24 World Championship, and the top two players have qualified for the eChampions League.
