Founding and Early Years
The company was originally established as Nordic Games Licensing AB in 2011 by Lars Wingefors. Its initial focus was on acquiring and managing video game IPs. In 2013, the company acquired assets from the defunct THQ, including franchises such as Darksiders, Red Faction, and MX vs. ATV. This acquisition marked a significant expansion of the company's portfolio and influence in the gaming industry.

Rebranding and Expansion
In 2016, Nordic Games Licensing AB rebranded itself as THQ Nordic AB to capitalize on the strong brand recognition associated with the THQ name.
