[[News/OverActive Media to Leave Overwatch League|Yesterday OverActive Media announced its decision to leave the league to investors.]] As the 20 teams disband, the company is said to be compensating them with a total of $120m.

Each team will receive $6m according to the deal. When the league was formed teams paid $20 and above for the entry, however following the start of the pandemic Overwatch League numbers dropped and Overwatch 2 was not enough to pique the interest of the viewers. Activision Blizzard officials stated that even though the league is over there will be additional esports activities in the future.
