The parody extraction shooter Escape from Duckov has taken the PC gaming scene by storm, soaring past one million copies sold in less than a week. Developed by Team Soda and published by Bilibili, the tongue-in-cheek title has already outperformed the launch-week sales of several big-budget AAA releases.
Inspired by the notoriously difficult Escape from Tarkov, Escape from Duckov reimagines the hardcore extraction shooter formula with a comedic twist. Players take control of a battle-hardened duck navigating a world in ruins, scavenging for gear, completing missions, and upgrading a hideout while fending off other feathery foes. Despite its humor, the game maintains a solid PvE experience and challenging survival systems that appeal to fans of the genre.
Interest in Escape from Duckov exploded shortly after release, with the game selling 200,000 copies in its first 24 hours alone. Its success has continued to climb steadily on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, where it remains one of the most talked-about indie titles of the month.
Jeff Chen, the game’s producer, shared his gratitude for the overwhelming response:
“Team Soda is incredibly humbled to have reached such heights, and we owe this success to an incredible community of players and our friends at BILIBILI GAME. Whether you’ve been with us through our early days promoting the demo on Steam or are just joining to see what all the quacking is about, thank you.”
