Invictus Gaming (IG), one of China's most iconic esports organizations, has officially entered the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene. The team will make their debut at the Mobile Legends World Champion Challenge showmatch during the China MLBB official launch festival. The event also featured ONIC Philippines, the reigning MLBB world champions, and Omega Empress, who claimed victory at last year’s MLBB Women's Invitational. In addition, several former Chinese professional players from various games, including Chun “Sccc” Song (Dota 2) and Shi Yu “Mlxg” Liu (League of Legends), participated in the showmatch.
Founded in 2011, IG is one of the oldest and most respected esports organizations in China. It made a significant impact early on, winning The International 2012 with its Dota 2 team, just two years after its founding.
More:G2 Esports Partners with Invictus Gaming
While IG’s entry into the MLBB esports scene is a positive development for the game’s future in China, the team has faced some challenges. Recently, IG took a break from Dota 2 due to “various factors.” However, they’ve also secured significant investments from Huya and Young Sport, which could help propel their growth in the mobile esports space.
