Starting in November, YouTube is making some important changes to how creators can control ads on their videos. Instead of giving creators specific options for different types of ads (like pre-roll, post-roll, skippable, and non-skippable ads), YouTube is simplifying things, according to them.

Now, creators will only be able to decide if they want ads to appear before or after their videos, or not at all. If they choose to have ads, YouTube will decide which type of ad to show (like pre-roll or post-roll) based on what makes the most sense for the video. Some of the creators criticized the changes and stated that this will effect their content creation dramatically.
