The Esports World Cup Foundation just raised the bar for esports prize pools. They’ve confirmed that this year’s Esports World Cup, running from July 6 to August 23 in Riyadh, will feature a total prize pool of $75 million. The extra funds are designed to reward not just individual tournament winners but also the organizations that build and support top-tier rosters year after year.

A huge chunk of the money, $30 million, is earmarked specifically for the Esports World Cup Club Championship. This cross-game competition crowns one club as the overall champion based on performance across multiple titles. The winning organization will take home $7 million, with increased payouts flowing down to the runners-up and other top finishers.

Beyond the club battle and individual game prizes, the remaining funds will go toward special recognitions. These include MVP awards handed out after each tournament and the Jafonso Award, which celebrates teams or players who pull off an upset victory after coming through last-chance qualifiers or open qualification paths.

Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, summed up the vision behind the massive prize increase. “The life-changing prize pool exists to support the People at the heart of esports: the players and the Clubs that invest in them year after year,” he said. “EWC is different because of the Club Championship. One title crowns a champion, EWC crowns the ultimate cross-game Club Champion.”

The announcement builds on the momentum from last year’s event, which drew 750 million viewers worldwide and generated 350 million hours watched. With the 2026 lineup already shaping up to include fresh titles and even more participants, expectations are high for another record-breaking run.
