The legal dispute between Epic Games and Apple, is becoming the hot topic once again. Meta, Microsoft, X, and Match have announced their support behind Epic Games in its battle against Apple. These companies are united in their accusation that Apple has failed to adhere to a court-ordered injunction regarding payment processes within its App Store. When Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the tech giant was engaging in monopolistic practices by limiting third-party apps and game marketplaces on iOS devices, thereby stifling competition. The court ruled that Apple’s prohibition of third-party app marketplaces and its imposition of a 30% commission within its own marketplace were unlawful.
Last month the situation also made the headlines when Apple banned Epic Games Store and Fortnite from iOS devices. Epic Games protested the decision at EU courts.
