According to reports, in the coming week, advertisements are set to make their debut on Discord. Discord is accessible across a variety of devices, including Xbox and the Steam Deck, but this landscape will change drastically with the introduction of ads. Following this initial rollout, sponsored promotions will become a regular feature of the Discord experience, visibly appearing on the bottom left corner of users' screens. Discord aims to transform the advertising encounter into an enjoyable aspect of the platform, offering users the opportunity to earn rewards by completing in-game tasks provided by advertisers. This innovative framework will be labeled as Sponsored Quests. Additionally, Discord assures its users the ability to disable advertisements through the settings menu, granting users control over their experience.

Officials stated “The ads will be targeted to users based on their gameplay, age and geographic location data, and they will appear in the bottom left corner of users’ screens.”
