Baybreak has acquired Singularity 6 as a wholly owned subsidiary. The developer of Palia will retain its independent operation, led by co-founders Anthony Leung and Aidan Karabiach. With enhanced resources from the acquisition, Singularity 6 plans to accelerate development, achieve the 1.0 launch of Palia, and expand its availability across various platforms.
Established in 2018 by former Riot Games veterans, Singularity 6 has raised nearly $49m through multiple funding rounds. Palia, its inaugural game, debuted in open beta on PC in August last year and later became available on Nintendo Switch. Following its March 2024 release on Steam, Palia garnered predominantly positive feedback. The game has amassed a player base exceeding 4 million (thanks to its free-to-play model) and currently boasts over 100,000 daily active users. Despite encountering financial challenges this year, Singularity 6 remains committed to advancing Palia's development and reach.
