Twitch platform has announced significant updates aimed at combating sexual harassment. In a recent blog post, Twitch emphasized its stance that sexual harassment is never acceptable and outlined clearer guidelines in light of past incidents involving Beahm.
The updated policy now explicitly prohibits several behaviors, including making unwanted comments about someone's body, using sexually suggestive emojis, making sexual advances, objectifying individuals, and making negative remarks about someone's perceived sexual behavior or activities.
Additionally, Twitch clarified that recording or sharing nonconsensual images or videos is strictly forbidden, with warnings that such actions may result in reports to law enforcement.
"We prohibit unwanted comments – including comments made using emojis/emotes – regarding someone's appearance or body, sexual requests or advances, sexual objectification, and negative statements or attacks related to a person's perceived sexual behaviors or activities, regardless of their gender," Twitch stated.
"We also do not tolerate the recording or sharing of non-consensual intimate images or videos under any circumstances, and may report such content to law enforcement."
