Roblox is enhancing its revenue-sharing model as it aims for 1 billion users. At its annual developers conference in San Francisco, CEO David Baszucki announced that developers will now retain between 50 and 70 percent of the revenue from purchases made with real currency. This is a significant increase from the approximately 30 percent share given for transactions made with the platform’s native Robux currency within freemium experiences.
This change is intended to encourage the development of more premium games as Roblox seeks to attract older users. Baszucki also mentioned plans to extend this revenue model to paid experiences on mobile devices and consoles, though app store fees could complicate this.

Baszucki stated that this program is designed to facilitate more aggressive social marketing by creators.
