Texas-based studio Ruckus Games has raised $19 million in a Series A funding round led by Krafton, with additional contributions from Bitkraft Ventures, Transcend, and Hypergryph. The funding will support the development of Ruckus' debut game, a roster-based co-op shooter.

Ruckus, founded in 2021 by Gearbox and Riot alumni, previously raised $5.5 million in seed funding from Transcend Fund in September 2022, which helped a 14-person team develop a prototype over 12 months. Early playtests for the untitled game are planned for this winter.

CEO Paul Sage, formerly creative director of Borderlands 3, said, "Having Krafton and Hypergryph join us is amazing. They bring not only a global reach, but as developers themselves, they bring a unique perspective to our team."
