European esports organization Team Secret has announced a joint venture with Vietnamese esports organization Team Whales for the League of Legends’ new tier-one ecosystem in Asia-Pacific (APAC), the LCP.
The partnership has resulted in the formation of Secret Whales, one of the four guest teams in the league, set to begin in January 2025. With Team Whales’ local expertise, the new team aims to create a competitive presence in the region. The team will unveil its roster soon through an "exclusive announcement."
Both organizations are also committed to building a unified and vibrant community by merging their fanbases and supporting emerging talent in the LCP.
The LCP, launching next year, aligns with Riot Games’ new competitive structure for League of Legends. The season will feature three splits, with four partner teams and four guest slots. The competition is open to teams from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, Oceania, and Southeast Asia.
In addition to Secret Whales, other teams competing in the LCP include CTBC Flying Oyster, Fukuoka HAWKS gaming, GAM Esports, PSG Talon, Vikings Esports, DetonatioN FocusMe, and Chiefs Esports Club.
