Chris Greeley, Riot Games' Global Head of LoL Esports, confirmed in a March 16th interview that the 2025 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship will feature a massive $5 million prize pool. This marks a significant increase from the $2.225 million awarded in 2024. Additionally, Greeley noted that teams could earn even more through bonuses tied to merchandise revenue.
As the pinnacle of the LoL esports season, Worlds continues to set new milestones. The 2024 edition broke viewership records, drawing 6.94 million viewers for the Grand Final between Bilibili Gaming and champions T1. With this year’s boosted prize pool, Worlds 2025 is poised to reach even greater heights.
