OpTic Gaming has finally returned to the top of the Halo Championship Series (HCS) podium, clinching the title at their home event, the Arlington Major. Battling through adversity—including a major power outage and a tough lower bracket run—OpTic emerged victorious, defeating Shopify Rebellion in the Grand Finals and securing their first HCS trophy since 2023.

Despite a rocky start in the pool stage and a drop into the lower bracket, OpTic refused to fold. The team embarked on a dominant run through the bracket, taking down TSM, Infamous, Team Nemesis, Spacestation Gaming, and FaZe Clan before sweeping Shopify Rebellion to capture the title.

This marks OpTic’s first HCS Major victory since the Fort Worth Major in September 2023. In the time since, the team had developed a reputation for consistently falling just short—landing in second place at least eight times in 2024, including at every Major event and the Halo World Championship.

The breakthrough moment came in their 3-0 sweep of Spacestation, a team that has frequently served as OpTic’s biggest obstacle over the past year. For the newly restructured OpTic roster, that win alone symbolized redemption.

“This victory is pure validation,” said a team spokesperson. “After months of hard work, roster adjustments, and heartbreaking finishes, this win feels like everything finally aligned.”
