Anbernic Stops US Shipments

Chinese retro handheld console maker Anbernic has temporarily halted shipments to the United States in response to tariff policies originally enacted under former President Donald Trump. The company updated its shipping policy on its official website, advising customers of the change and urging them to purchase from domestic sources instead.

"Due to changes in US tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States," Anbernic stated. "We strongly recommend prioritising products shipped from our US warehouse, which are currently not affected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence."

While the company did not provide a timeline for resuming direct shipments from China, it assured customers that it would share updates on any future changes and revise its shipping policies accordingly.

As highlighted by The Verge, Anbernic typically releases new products by shipping directly from its manufacturing base in China. Once a product launch is complete, additional inventory is moved to its U.S.-based warehouse for continued distribution.

Despite the pause in direct shipments, U.S. customers can still find Anbernic’s popular handheld consoles through third-party sellers, including on platforms like Amazon.

Founded in 2017 by Shenzhen YangLiMing Electronic Technology Co., Anbernic gained early recognition with the launch of China’s first open-source handheld gaming console, the Retro Games series. Since then, the company has released over 30 models, capable of emulating a wide range of classic gaming systems such as the NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, SNES, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS.
