World Series of Warzone Removes Ninjas in Pyjamas

Swedish esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) has been disqualified from the 2025 World Series of Warzone (WSOW) after one of its players, received a controversial permanent ban on his Activision account.

The ban, which reportedly stemmed from the use of unauthorized third-party software, has left NIP ineligible to compete in the EMEA Regional Final, and consequently, the Global Finals later this year. Player has publicly denied any wrongdoing, maintaining his innocence despite Activision's decision.

The sudden removal has also impacted teammates, who must now fight for a Global Finals spot in the last-chance qualifier scheduled for August 21, 2025.

Reacting to the situation on social media, Omenic criticized the competitive infrastructure: “We have been removed from WSOW due to Activision’s faulty anti-cheat,” he wrote. “Unlike others, me and AJ will not be able to get a substitute. Honestly, a joke of a game.”

Tournament organizers cited a breach of terms related to third-party software as the reason behind ban. However, neither NIP nor Activision has provided further details. The organization, which signed the roster back in May, has yet to make an official statement about the future of the squad.
