EA and DICE’s latest entry in the long-running shooter franchise, Battlefield 6, has stormed onto Steam with a record-breaking debut. Within just an hour of release, the game has already crossed 700,000 concurrent players, making it one of the biggest PC launches in recent memory.
Record-Breaking Start for Battlefield 6
According to data from SteamDB, the all-time concurrent player count for Battlefield 6 has soared past 704,005, and the number continues to climb with each refresh. This figure not only eclipses the franchise’s own open-beta record of 521,000 players, but also surpasses Call of Duty’s all-time Steam peak of 491,670.
What makes this surge even more impressive is that the game’s official release landed on a Friday, leaving an entire weekend for even more players to join the action.
The massive player turnout reflects the anticipation that’s been building since the open-beta weekends, when thousands of players flooded the servers to experience a slice of the game. While the beta offered smaller maps and limited features, the full release now delivers Battlefield’s signature large-scale chaos in full force.
