Twitch received a huge backlash when it unveiled plans to restrict on-screen ads to a maximum of 3% of the screen and removed most of the ad types. Obviously, this decision sparked outrage among streamers, leading some to threaten to leave the site. However, even though Twitch has since apologized and reversed its changes, some streamers have already migrated to alternative platforms such as Kick in response to the controversy. Kick announced the news with the following tweet, “We just doubled our all-time 24h signup record, Shoutout to that other website for the boost.”
