Gamers who purchased FIFA Ultimate Team packs in Austria are set to receive €10,800 in compensation as both Electronic Arts and Sony have been instructed to make this payment. The directive originates from the Landesgericht für Zivilrechtssachen Wien, a regional court situated in Vienna. The court's ruling states that these loot boxes contravene gambling regulations. Austria's approach to civil cases involves individual assessment, allowing courts to make independent decisions regardless of previous verdicts. Electronic Arts won 2 lawsuits previously. Although EA expresses disagreement with the recent verdict, they have chosen not to pursue further appeals in this instance.
