Paradox Interactive and Harebrained Schemes have jointly declared, that effective from January 1, 2024 the companies will part ways. This decision comes in the aftermath of a less-than-ideal commercial performance of The Lamplighters League.
In an official statement, both companies clarified that this parting of ways was reached through a "mutual agreement" driven by differences in "strategic and creative priorities." As part of the agreement, Paradox will maintain ownership of The Lamplighters League and Battletech, while Harebrained will continue to provide support for The Lamplighters League until the close of this year.
Brian Poel stated "Harebrained Schemes will support The Lamplighters League through the end of the year while we seek funding and partnerships for an independent future in 2024, our studio mission remains the same: to make games that challenge your mind and touch your heart."
