Microsoft revealed that they will ban the use of unauthorized 3rd party hardware on XBOX which includes controllers. The company stated that the changes are for security reasons. Some of the users are already getting error messages which includes XIM's according to posts.

Microsoft officials stated "Unauthorized accessories can compromise the gaming experience on Xbox consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.) Gamers may receive a pop-up warning that their accessory is unauthorized. Eventually, the unauthorized accessory will be blocked from use to preserve the console gaming experience. "
