Discord, is cutting 17% of its workforce, affecting 170 employees from different departments, according to an internal memo. According to officials despite not being in severe financial trouble, Discord, experienced a surge in user growth during the pandemic, is still working to become profitable and revive user engagement.

Discord's CEO wrote “We grew quickly and expanded our workforce even faster, increasing by 5x since 2020, as a result, we took on more projects and became less efficient in how we operated.”
