Absurd Ventures Reveals New Studio

Absurd Ventures has announced the establishment of a new development studio, Absurd Marin, led by Bret Robbins, the former founder and game director of Ascendant Studios. The studio, located in San Rafael, California, is set to focus on a new story-driven adventure title based on an unannounced intellectual property (IP). This project marks a fresh direction for Robbins and his team, separate from Absurd Ventures' other current endeavor.
Absurd Ventures is also developing a separate project within the universe of "A Better Paradise." Both the Absurd Marin and "A Better Paradise" projects are currently in the early stages of development, as clarified in the announcement.

This news follows a challenging period for Ascendant Studios, the previous developer behind the 2023 title "Immortals of Aveum." The game faced disappointing sales, leading to the significant reduction of the studio’s workforce by 45% in September of the previous year.
